Agents of Change?
AOC is an ever evolving beast. That in mind, we try to stick to our guns as much as possible. We try to advocate responsible consumerism by selling hand printed shirts/other clothes obtained through thrift stores/re-sale shops (as a means of recycling), or obtaining the shirts through fair trade, union run shops. Also, we have started printing CD materials on completely recycleable material as well. Past that we have played many rallies, demonstrations, and benefit shows for various causes including, but not limited to: Iraq war protests, SHAC 7 solidarity, Make A Wish, Darfur Relief, and more.
We want you to think and be an active participant in your world. Whatever that may mean for each individual; we humans, the dynamic, vivacious creatures that we are, must resist the growing complacency that is enveloping every aspect of our existance. Participation is key, but not just any kind of participation.
While doing all this you must be a conscious decision maker. Every action you make has a ripple effect, and what may seem like an insignifigant choice to one, may have grave consequences for another. For example,I assume you are wearing clothes right now, where are they from? what country, what company? Do they care about their workers? Do they treat them right? Pay decently?
You deciding to buy a shirt from Nike might directly result in the oppression of a foreign worker. Not to sound preachy, but we as a race can do better.
As far as the music goes, it's acoustic funky hip-hop, mixed with elements of jazz, punk and latin music. Kinda like if you mix Tupac, Spock, and punk rock in a blender.
